Gia Is the star of the Teddy Award-winning documentary Kiki; a coming of age story about youth in the ballroom scene, and her work in the house and ballroom scene has encompassed community activism, HIV and STI prevention services for at-risk LGBTQ+ youth, and research. She is currently the Director of Community Engagement for Black Trans Femmes in the Arts Collective (BTFA).

For many years Chanel Lopez worked at the “New York Anti Violence Project” with LGBTQ+ survivors of sexual and domestic violence, a position she held close to her heart being a survivor of sexual & domestic violence herself.

Meet Babilla Collective
Established in 2019, we are a collective of Queer/Cuir transfeminist anti-racist language workers who come from experiences of migration and diaspora.
